Waiting for next Sunday…

by Meghan on February 1, 2010

SquawkSo, the season premiere kicked off with a little bit of spice, a touch of conflict and a whole lot of duck feathers. Though stepping on the mat in 6th place to end the Cai Be leg of the race was a bit different from the comfort  of being in the front in Japan, we were relieved to still be in the game. I remember the feeling of panic when trying to frantically herd those ducks and the thought of going home because I couldn’t get 150 of the little buggers to cross a narrow bridge was daunting, but very real. What I learned from Zev “The Duck Whisperer” Glassenberg is that these “little monkies” were SMART. It was as if they were politely asking you to show them where to go and when you did, they went.  However, when you chased them down with two  five foot poles, poked and prodded and screemed obsenities at them, they wanted nothing to do with you. It’s simple instinct, really. It was sad to see Jess and Garrett go because they would surely have been a strong force in the game!  Good for the rest of us, though. So, all we can do now is wait for Sunday…
